I enter complex human systems as a beginner, build a deep understanding of them fast, and help the people inside see what they already know but can’t yet say, so that real action becomes possible. That’s the thread through everything I’ve done, and it’s the work I do now.

Over the last two decades I’ve worked across the whole of technology: hands-on software engineer, product manager, VP of Engineering, Head of Product, CTO. I’ve led high-performing teams, shipped products people loved, and lived in the messiness between startup scrappiness and scale-up success. For most of a decade I was CTO of a multi-brand software group, where my job was to take apart one company’s system, understand it, redesign it, and move to the next. I learned there that the same twenty problems show up everywhere, and that they almost always have the same three causes.

My clients are founder-led companies past product-market fit that feel like they’ve hit a wall. Communication is breaking down, good people are burning out, new leaders aren’t landing, and it’s getting harder and harder to get things done. My work is to fix the mudball of history and organizational debt by helping you rewire the way your company works, thinks, and collaborates. Not in one big, perfectly designed transformation, but in small, manageable, incremental steps, as we learn together.

I lead with curiosity, a rebellious spirit with high expectations, and a systems-level understanding of both humans and businesses. I’m a certified mediator, and I keep studying the psychology of partnerships and teams because the interpersonal layer is where most companies actually break.

Born in Munich to an Italian family, educated in the European School system among friends of every nationality, and emigrated to the United States for college, I’m a third-culture kid: an engineer, an adventurer, a leader and a doer, an athlete and an artist. I trained as an aerospace engineer, became a lifelong computer nerd, and grew from deep software expertise into executive leadership along the way. An avid reader, I’ve chased a wide range of ideas and experiences that connected me to the human side of every system I’ve worked in.

I still live the third-culture life: Santa Barbara and Lake Tahoe in California, Denver, Lisbon, Tuscany, Baja, and long stretches out of a truck camper with my wife. I’m a paragliding pilot and skydiver, I climb rock and ice, I freedive and spearfish, and I love cooking memorable meals for good people.
